Spirit & Flesh: What inspired your story?
Chris Grosser: Well the story was really the idea of the stylist, she approached me with the idea of a sexy day at home story and I was into it. Together we came up with a mood board, location and the team.
S&F: What was the collaboration between you and the model?
CG: Until the day of the shoot, not much collaboration happened between us as it was a virtual casting based the packages I received from modeling agencies here in NY. The day of the shoot Caitlin had several references to look at and get into her character. She was great, really tried to find different options for each spot we were shooting.
S&F: Describe the collaboration between you, your stylist and glam team?
CG: The styling team and I spoke almost daily for at least a week prior to the shoot. We exchanged inspirations until we had a solid story we were after. While pulling clothes they would email me images to see if we were all on the same page as well.
The makeup artist and hair stylist were both people I have worked with several times over the last few years so we had a good understanding of one another. We spoke a few times and looked at the mood board together to have a plan. It helps to know in advance all ideas and references so as people arrive they just start working. It saves time and keeps the day short, which I like. We did this in about 5 hours from start to finish.
